ABOUT MAMA & SMUSH

Mama & Smush was born out of a deep desire to listen to the unheard voices of mothers—voices that often whisper about feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and unseen during the postpartum period.

we recognize that

nourishment is the missing Piece in postpartum care, often overlooked in the rush of new responsibilities.

This oversight takes a toll not just on mothers, but on partners too, leaving families struggling when they should be thriving.

Karen - Founder of Mama and Smush

POSTPARTUM NUTRITIONIST PROFESSIONAL (CPPNP), HERBALIST &, AYURVEDIC DOULA

Hi, I’m Karen, the founder of Mama & Smush, and a wife and mother of three. As a birth professional, I’ve dedicated years to supporting families through pregnancy and postpartum. It wasn't until I went through my own postpartum experience that I truly understood the significance of proper nourishment. I realized I needed to make impactful changes to postpartum care. After becoming certified, I started implementing postpartum meal plans and educating families about these practices, resulting in transformative changes for them. Now, years later, I’m excited to share these approaches to reach even more families and help bridge the gap in postpartum care. At Mama & Smush, I blend ancient Ayurveda, herbs, and modern global practices to provide nourishing solutions for postpartum families.

This left me feeling drained and not thriving, and I know I’m not alone. Many postpartum mothers are told these challenges are normal, but the fact is, they are NOT
